Scientists Maree Collis and Ray Nadeson founded Lethbridge in 1996, leaving behind their respective careers in chemistry and medicine. The farm at Lethbridge had actually first been planted by Swiss vignerons, prior to the arrival of phylloxera in Geelong, and so they set about reviving the farm`s viticultural heritage. After nearly 30 years in the business, they have achieved a steller reputation for the quality of their wines, both within Australia and around the world. They now farm three vineyards (Lethbridge Estate, Hat Rock Vineyard, Rebenberg Vineyard), and additionally operate several experimental brands, including Between Five Bells and Il Modo. /JH
