Media Reviews

Neal Martin

The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Saint-Julien was quite reduced on the nose, but develops light savory notes behind the veneer of new oak (75% again here). The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, brown spices infusing the black fruit, and white pepper on the finish. 86-88 points

Jasper Morris MW

Not planted for a long time, until the 1950s. This plot has been kept separate since 2014, and is also matured in 70% new wood. Rich deep purple. The fruit is trying to emerge on the bouquet but it is early days yet. This delivers quite a lot more punch in terms of fruit intensity on the palate. Excellent aftertaste on red-black fruit, some dark cherries, while the tannins are well balanced. 90-92 points

Allen Meadows

Here the expressive nose displays enough wood influence to mention on the spicy aromas of newly turned earth and poached plum. There is better volume and punch to the attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that possess a seductive mid-palate that contrasts somewhat with the slightly firm and ever-so-slightly rustic finale. This too is a very good villages and worth checking out. 89-91 points

William Kelley

Aromas of raspberries, plums, raw cocoa, exotic spices and loamy soil introduce Julien`s 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Saints-Juliens, a medium to full-bodied, lively wine that`s a touch more concentrated and tightly wound than Julien`s blended communal Nuits-Saint-Georges. It will reward a modicum of bottle age. 90+ points
