2022 Siran (Margaux)

Media Reviews

William Kelley

The 2022 Siran is a real success, bursting with aromas of sweet berries, cassis, licorice and pencil shavings, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy palate. This charming, succulent Margaux is sure to be one of the commune`s better value propositions. 90-92 points

Jane Anson

A brilliant quality Siran, full of depth and grip, slate-textured tannins to provide contrast to the ripe black fruits, and help draw out of the nuance in the rich flavours. Has juice and pleasure, and is an enjoyable and quietly confident wine in a year where excess was the easier route. Ageing in 35% new French oak barrels. One to look out for, from the Miaihle family. 94 points

Antonio Galloni

The 2022 Siran is one of the best wines I have tasted from the property. Silky, aromatic and light on its feet, Siran is exceptionally polished. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, chalk and white pepper all grace this exquisite Margaux. Superb. 93-95 points

Neal Martin

The 2022 Siran was picked 13 to 30 September at 36hL/ha, matured in 35% new oak for a planned 12 months. It takes a little time cohering in the glass, a mixture of red and black fruit intermingling with cedar and pressed flowers. It is comparatively understated for the vintage, but that`s a facet that I like and it delivers real freshness. The palate is medium-bodied and very harmonious, with finely-knit tannins, and a pleasant spiciness that unfolds with aeration (black pepper and clove). There`s a build in the mouth allied with sapidity that urges you back for another sip. Siran has been on an upswing under Edouard Miailhe in recent vintages. The swing continues. 92-94 points
