1996 Bordeaux vs Australia

Thursday, 21 November 2013 - 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Battle of the Cabernets

£70 per person

Even though they are thousands of miles apart, Australian Cabernet has always been a deadly rival to those of Bordeaux. In the mid nineties both were undergoing changes in style, viticulture and vinification influenced both by each other and the Californian industry.

1996 was a more than decent vintage in both this evening's countries and now, with the wines fully mature we have a brilliant opportunity to compare and contrast them, how they have developed and take a look at their likely future.

We'll serve some artisan bread from St John and cheese from Androuet.

The tasting will be jointly presented by Colin Wagstaff from the Dulwich Wine Society and Colin Wills from Uncorked.
