Ken and Akiko Freeman are in town to show off their superb range of Sonoma Coast Pinot Noirs, and we'd be delighted if you could join us for a Freeman dinner at Cabotte Restaurant on Gresham St, London on Wednesday 15 May.
Founded in 2001, Freeman Winery is the fruition of Ken and Akiko Freeman`s longstanding belief that California can produce Pinot Noir every bit as complex, eloquent and age-worthy as the world`s best. They also do a mean line in Chardonnay. We've been following their cool climate Sonoma Coast wines since the early 2000s, and have been their exclusive UK agent since the 2006 vintage. While they built their early success on close relationships with some of Sonoma's best growers, they were also busy planting their own vineyards. Gloria is the steep home vineyard, next to the winery; Yu-Ki is cold, windy and closer to the Pacific. These have come of age and are producing marvellous wines. Gloria is hedonistic, Yu-Ki is intense. Akiko's Cuvee is a selection from the top barrels each year.
On the 15 May, Ken and Akiko will be showing off a range of their wines in what is arguably the City's best restaurant, Cabotte. Cabotte will be laying on a 3-course dinner to complement the wines. (The final menu is TBD at the time of writing, but it is guaranteed to be to Cabotte's usual very high standard). Come and join a small band in Cabotte's private dining room to discover Akiko's winemaking genius, and Ken's enthusiastic and easy ability to transport you to the heart of Sonoma.
