Visitare Interiore Terrae
From a 70 year-old vineyard surrounded by garrigue. Concentrated and complex, with an intense aromatic palette of raspberry, strawberry, pepper and cinnamon, and a fine tannic structure. V.I.T. stands for `visitare interiore terrae`, meaning `visit the innermost earth`, an allusion to the search for the philosopher`s stone. Here it represents Michel Chapoutier`s search for the very best terroir in Cotes-du-Roussillon. (NT 10/05/20)

Julia Harding MW
65% Grenache on gneiss, aged in concrete, plus 35% Syrah on clay-limestone, aged in demi-muids. Mid crimson. Smells more red-fruited than the straight Bila-Haut red but still with that lovely smoky/mineral, almost ethereal character. Elegant, dry smoky flavour seems to suffuse the texture. Beautifully dry, dark-chocolate finish. 17.5 points
