Uncorked is committed to preserving the privacy and maintaining the trust of our customers. We take our responsibilities in looking after your personal information seriously. We limit the collection of data for specific purposes and ensure that we have legitimate and lawful grounds for processing that data. This Privacy Policy explains how we will use your personal information. For the purposes of data protection legislation, we are a data controller and sometimes use third parties to process your data on our behalf.

When you subscribe to our emails, browse our websites, attend one of our events, shop with us or store wine with us, you may provide us with:

Your personal details, including your name, postal and billing addresses, email addresses and phone numbers

The password you set for your account, which we store in an encrypted format

Information about your purchases (for example, what you bought, the quantities, and how much you paid for it)

Information about your online browsing behaviour and contributions (for example, your tasting notes)

We will use your personal information as appropriate, to set up and administer your account, to fulfil your orders, contact you, and fulfil our legal and regulatory compliance responsibilities. Information about you is stored securely by us and will only be accessible to people that need to see it to carry out their job responsibilities.

 

If you choose to subscribe to our marketing emails, we will also use your information to let you know about wines, services and events.

 

4. Who we share your information with

In order to provide the best service to our clients, we work with carefully selected third parties who are responsible for delivering certain functions on our behalf. These include companies that help us with technology services, processing payments and delivering your orders. We will only share personal data that enables our third parties to provide their services. When we share your personal data with these providers we require them to keep it safe and not keep it for any longer than they need to in order to perform their responsibilities.

Your data is held in two places:

On a secure website database maintained by Webcurl Ltd, who adhere to best practice in data security and hold ISO 9000 and 27001 certification

On our secure data server accessible only to Uncorked staff with data protection training

 

6. Applying for a job with us

If you are applying for a job with Uncorked, any personal information that is provided in this process will only be used for the purpose of progressing your application. We will use your contact details to get in touch with you to progress the application and any other information to assess your suitability for the role for which you have applied. We do not share this information with anyone outside the company. Your information will be kept for 6 months, unless it has been agreed with you that it can be retained for longer to be considered for any future roles with us. We will store your information securely and ensure only those involved in the recruitment process are able to access it.

 

7. Your rights and preferences

Under Data Protection legislation, you can request a copy of the details that we hold and process about you on our internal systems and that is processed by third parties on our behalf. Much of this information is already available in the user area of our website. If you would like anything additional to this, please contact Edward at the shop.

 

We want to make sure that the personal data we hold about you is up-to-date and accurate. If any of the details are incorrect you are able to update them using your online account or by letting us know and we will amend them for you.

If you ask us to delete your data, we will maintain a skeleton record comprising your name and email address to ensure that we don’t inadvertently contact you in future. We may also need to retain some financial records for statutory purposes.
