Jancis Robinson
Made since 2012. This is based on 2016 with 10% `reserve solera`. 60% Chardonnay (from a vineyard on other side of Hunting Hill), 40% Pinot Noir (fermented in old barrels). Disgorged February 2021. Dosage 5 g/l. Some 2005 Mate`s in the dosage. 6,000 bottles, all hand-riddled in pupitres! There will be a Blanc de Blancs eventually. Quite leesy and fine on the nose though a little bit too rich on the palate for me – but admittedly the bottle didn’t spend quite long enough in the fridge. 16 points
