Exhibiting some mature notes of orange marmalade, beeswax and spice, with a vibrant structure keeping it focused and persistent. Though light-weight and harmonious, this is concentrated. Drink now through 2020. 1,200 cases made. 94 points

The 1999 Tokaji Aszu 6-Puttonyos is a blend of 65% Furmint, 5% Muscat and 30% Harslevelu from Tokaj, Mad and Kings Peak. It was bottled in 2004 and spent longer in oak. It has a lucid amber hue with green tints on the rim. The nose shows more maturity than the 2006, as you would expect. mandarin, dried quince, orange peel, a touch of wet wool and spices. The palate is medium-bodied with a citric entry. This is still a very taut Tokaji, very racy and sharp with a piercing acidity from start to finish that totally neutralizes the 180 grams per liter residual sugar. It has a laser-like precision with a long, marmalade-tinged aftertaste. You can imagine this lasting decades rather than years. 93 points
