At this young age the wine shows much more in the mouth than on the nose, with texture trumping aroma. It works very well with risotto and if you have proper spinach with mature leaves and not the baby rubbish in the supermarket it is a brilliant match. Somewhat almondy, somewhat reminiscent of yellow plums and quince, this vintage will drink beautifully over the next seven to ten years. (CW 19/02/13)
