A great producer of Brunello di Montalcino and also an excellent Rosso, this is their entry level Sangiovese. Fresh, cherryish and with those lovely dry tannins on the finish. This might not be a wine to please some Americans who think they like wine but only drink high alcohol, oak aged monsters as an aperitif. This is, in the best sense of the phrase, a food wine. This means that if you’re eating, as most of us do, this will be a great and versatile accompaniment to many meals. Buon appetito! (CW 21/03/14)
