Neal Martin
The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru les Carrières has a lifted, quite earthy bouquet with broody black fruit, autumn leaves and fresh mint, gaining more confidence with each swirl of the glass. The palate is structured and masculine: good depth and acidity, but sultry and backward at the moment. There is a touch of black truffle coming through on the finish that is assertive and will require three or four years to mellow. 90 points

This is beautifully elegant and complex with airy aromas of black raspberry, cassis and anise nuances. The seductively textured flavors are lush, even opulent on the mid-palate yet tighten up considerably on the overtly mineral-driven finish that culminates in a mildly austere and firm finish that delivers excellent persistence. This is not as concentrated as the Feusselottes but it`s even finer - good stuff and worth your attention. 92 points
