From the home village of course. Cyprien says that 2013 was a vintage that at least came naturally, if not easily. The boy has a genius for understatement, I think. The nose shows a touch of reduction. There is good, ripe cherry fruit with silky tannins and good body and texture. Long finish with deft mineral freshness. (CW 04/11/14)

Neal Martin
he 2013 Morey-Saint-Denis Villages has a natural, earthy bouquet with fragrant brambly red berry fruit. The palate is well-behaved with slightly chalky tannin, crisp acidity, slightly powdery in texture but with a lively, energetic finish that bodes well. Give this 12 months in bottle after release and enjoy over four or five years. 87-89 points

(from Clos Solon and En Seuvrey). Light reduction pushes the fruit to the background but it’s not so strong that the inherent earthiness of the nose is invisible. Here too the medium weight flavors possess good energy and plenty of detail that continues onto the lightly mineral-inflected, clean and delicious finish that displays only a trace of backend rusticity. 87-89 points
