The Berthaut-Gerbet Gevrey Clos des Chezaux was made with 50% whole bunches in 2015. It shows nice weight and balance. The fruit is mouth coating and has good density but freshness too. Very long. (CW 09/11/16)

A notably floral nose is comprised by notes of spice, red currant, earth and a touch of the sauvage. I very much like the intensity and sleek mouth feel of the vibrant and again, tautly muscular flavors that possess a lovely sense of freshness on the lingering and balanced finale. Note that this will require at least a few years of cellar time first. Recommended. 89-91 points

The 2015 Gevrey Chambertin Clos des Chezeaux came from barrel, matured in 30% new oak with 50% whole bunch. It has a transparent and delineated bouquet. a veneer of blackberry and raspberry fruit but clearly visible underneath lies enticing granitic and wet limestone scents. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, plenty of crunchy blackcurrant and raspberry fruit, and a silver bead of acidity. There is an abiding sense of symmetry conveyed by this Gevrey Chambertin and it reeks of elegance on the finish without compromising an iota of its power. Excellent. 91-93 points
