The 2016 La Petite Eglise has a lovely bouquet of wilted violet petals and incense flanking blackberry and raspberry scents. With aeration, there is just a hint of balsamic. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. This feels fresh from start to finish. A fine-boned, precise Pomerol that delivers impressive closing precision. Excellent. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. 93 points
