2022 Larrivaux (Haut-Medoc)

Media Reviews

Neal Martin

The 2022 Larrivaux has a vibrant nose with a mixture of red and black fruit, cedar and loamy scents emerging with time. It shows fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and focused with grainy tannins and hints of cedar and mint in the background, heading toward the controlled, persistent finish. What a fine Haut-Médoc this is. 91 points

Antonio Galloni

The 2022 Larrivaux is a delight. Intensely floral overtones are laced into a core of red/purplish fruit. Juicy and immediate but with plenty of supporting structure, Larrivaux is on the exuberant side in 2022, and yet all the elements are very nicely balanced throughout. 92 points

William Kelley

The 2022 Larrivaux offers up attractive aromas of violets and dark berries, followed by a medium to full-bodied, rich but rather extracted palate. Attractively balanced but for an excess of tannin, a lighter touch here might well have paid dividends. 87-88 points

Jane Anson

Deeply coloured, fleshy damson, high extraction, edges of aniseed and fennel, black pepper. This is good quality with texture and tannins that hold things in place, adding relief and interest, definitely one of the ones to look out for in Haut-Medoc. Five generations of women owners, and now also with Basile Tesseron, ex-Lafon Rochet. 93 points
