Another vineyard worked by horse. 40% whole bunch, still in barrel, 75% new wood. Mid crimson purple. A beautiful bouquet, with a headiness brought by the whole bunches. Dark red fruit with floral overtones. The stems give some white pepper as well, an there is a fine elegant finish. Drink from 2030-2038. 92-95 points

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Champeaux 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet, the 40% whole bunches beautifully integrated, vibrant red fruit and light sous-bois scents. It has wonderful focus. The palate is medium-bodied with darker berry fruit on the entry than I expected after the nose. It has gentle grip, quite powerful, with a peacock`s tail on the finish with a bit of sinew. There is very good potential here, but it`s one of the more patient amongst you. 93-95 points
