A savoury, herbal wine from one of the great producers in France’s mountainous Jura region. The crunchy tannins, bright acidity and mineral finish call for food at the table: ‘We’re not too fussy what.’ Or as my former boss used to say, ‘good with food’. (NT 23/09/24)

The 2022 Trousseau Singulier, still unbottled, was harvested a little later and also destemmed by hand, pressed and put into 600-liter barrels, but unlike Poulsard that likes cold, Trousseau likes heat. This has the textbook earthiness and the slightly dusty tannins that call for food. 93-94 points
