Millandes is an excellent premier cru sloping down from the village, just below Clos de la Roche. Smudged red fruit, Asian spice, and whiff of pencil wood, then super salty on the finish. Excellent. Not entirely in focus yet, as one would expect, but tense with potential. (NT 12/12/24)

The 2023 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Millandes 1er Cru offers a well-defined bouquet with touches of crushed stone infusing the red fruit, becoming more floral with aeration. The medium-bodied palate features plush tannins, good body and ample depth. There is a little sinew toward the close, perhaps at the expense of finesse, though it finishes long. Give this a couple of years in the bottle. 91-93 points

Not too deep in colour, an even crimson ruby. Very much a red fruit nose as well, actually this is quite striking and very well poised. Fills the mouth, discreetly, then develops further depth of fruit at the back of the palate, as well as showing a little oak. I think this will emerge as a very successful 2023. 92-94 points
