The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Derriere Le Four comes from a parcel just behind Felettig`s maison that was partially replanted. Its separate bottling came about due to the large volume. This sees 40% new oak (two out of five barrels). The bouquet is quite complex and well defined, with its 20% whole bunch lending a discrete peppery note. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent black cherry fruit and light blueberry notes, but it has a surprising grip and structure on the finish to suggest it will give 15 to 20 years of drinking pleasure. This marks a fine debut. 90-92 points
