With plum, sour cherry and violets on the nose this is immediately very much of Vosne. There is also a characteristic herbal note that I think of as dog hair, but which leans into tobacco. Not as concentrated as some vintages here, but bright and expressive, with an intense finish that suggests plenty of potential to age. (NT 05/12/24)

More of a garnet to crimson colour. The fruit is not immediately so flamboyant. A strawberry or two perhaps. The village Vosne is on the softer side but none the less very agreeable and the fruit builds to the back. Now more alpine strawberry, this is growing in the glass. 90-92 points

The 2023 Vosne-Romanee Village is quite understated on the nose. Forest floor scents mix with incense as red berry fruit tones gently unfurl in the glass, though it doesn`t make too much of a fuss. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, pretty red fruit mixed with blood orange on the entry and moderate weight. It is finely balanced with a dash of white pepper on the finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle and you`ll have a lovely Vosne Village on your hands. 88-90 points
