Sales support/assistant role
Salary: £27,000 to £30,000 Annually

Uncorked is a small, independent merchant established in 1994. Based in a physical store tucked away in the heart of the City of London, we offer mail order, we specialise in primeurs, we offer comprehensive private client stock management, and we sell into the trade.
We are looking for a well organised person to join our small, tight-knit team. Good numeracy, literacy and computer skills essential, as are multi-tasking and team-working abilities. Would suit a graduate with basic knowledge of the wine industry keen to learn more. Fluent English essential. French or Italian desirable.
Your core responsibilities will be:
- Maximise sales
- Optimise customer experience
- Be an ambassador for Uncorked
Your duties will be:
- Maintain a high level of customer service, develop and encourage close relationships with key customers, encourage loyalty and exceed expectations
- Drive and manage sales in-line with objectives set
- Understand the product range intricately
- Develop innovative methods to engage customers and retain them
- Monitor competitor activity
- Work with the team to devise marketing communications
- Show excellent written and verbal communication with staff and customers, making sure issues and enquiries are dealt with efficiently
- Work to weekly, monthly, seasonal and annual company objectives
- Understand intricately how to operate our software system
- Provide support to the rest of the team
- Help merchandise the shop and maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
- The job is full-time, Monday-Friday, 9am to 6pm, though with occasional hours outside those times for events or tastings
Desired WSET Qualifications
- Level 3 Award in Wines (or Level 3 Award in Wines and Spirits)
