We write about the man and his wines in glowing terms quite often, we drink them ourselves regularly, visit occasionally, and put them on tasting from time to time. Now is your chance to meet Marco Ricasoli Firidolfi and taste the wines from the estate where the framework of Chianti as we know it was developed. The estate itself is in the middle of nowhere, far from the more manicured bits of Tuscany: poor, ancient, shell-strewn old seabed a brilliant medium on which to grow some of the region's most expressive wines. He's one of our heroes and you have the chance to taste at least three of his magnificent wines all afternoon and meet the man himself today between 12 and 3pm. /CW
