Not as aromatic as the Suchots today, but richly fruited. Slightly coarser tannins, but plenty of fruit and glycerin. Good length, ripe. 70-75% new oak, light toast, only Allier. Etienne feels his personal style coincides well with the natural style of Clos Vougeot. (CW 03/11/10)

Antonio Galloni
The Clos de Vougeot is gorgeous in 2009. This is an especially dark, brooding Clos Vougeot. Dark red cherries, plums, tar and licorice are some of the many notes that take shape in this explosive, beguiling Burgundy. The sheer energy and drive make the Clos Vougeot a standout. Graphite, mint and licorice linger on the pointed, focused finish. 94+ points
