John Gilman
The 2013 Chambolle villages from Ghislaine Barthod is a fine example, offering up a lovely and classic bouquet of cherries, a touch of quince, blood orange, violets, lovely minerality and coffee. On the palate the wine is medium-full, pure and nicely reserved out of the blocks, with a fine core, excellent soil signature, bright acids and fine focus and grip on the modestly tannic finish. This will need a few years to blossom, but will be a delightful bottle of Chambolle. 2020-2050+. 89+ points
