The 2020 Riesling Bernkasteler Badstube Spatlese (Green Capsule) is pure, refined and fresh on the delicate, coolish and herbal nose that is still restrained but already serious, with crushed lemon aromas and slate moistened with fresh lemon juice. Precise and juicy on the palate, this is a dense, round and textured, savory and saline, initially almost astringently sharp Badstube. The wine develops enormously with aeration, and in fact, it tasted less reductive and sharp after 10 days from the same bottle. The Riesling laser beam of day one developed into a round and juicy yet savory and saline-finishing Badstube that performed extremely well in 2020. 10% stated alcohol. Natural cork.
