Anthony Mueller
With a light ruby core, the 2021 Pinot Noir offers crunchy red fruit with dusty red flower aromas in the glass. Light to medium-bodied, the palate compresses to show firm, succulent acidity and flavors of red and black tea with supple tannins and hints of wild herbs. This will develop beautifully in the bottle with time. 90+ points

The 2021 Pinot Noir comes from Kaaimansgat and Walker Bay on shale soils with around 30% whole bunch, 11 months maturation in 25% new oak. It has quite an expressive, chocolaty-tinged bouquet, touches of mint coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, dark berry mixed with white pepper and sage, not complex but with a pleasing crunchy texture on the finish. Fine. 90 points
